What is a vehicle licence?
Your vehicle licence, better known as your rego, is proof that your vehicle is registered to be on New Zealand roads. Most vehicles need to display a valid registration label at all times. When you renew your rego, you’re paying a fee to the New Zealand government for the right to use your vehicle on public roads. That fee goes towards roading projects and the upkeep of our road network, so every renewal helps keep New Zealand moving.
